Hands-On Activities

STEM SATURDAY

STEM Illinois hosted STEM Saturdays are community-based academic STEM learning events for students and parents to learn together. They reach hundreds of students, parents, and volunteers and spark a passion for STEM learning through hands-on, project-based activities. Each STEM Saturday has a theme. During a STEM Saturday, a school or community center gym is transformed into a laboratory with 40 tables and 200 students. Students are divided into groups by age. Students build something related to the theme of that particular Saturday, applying the concepts they have just learned to real world situations.
